We have a successful long-term track record of meeting stringent requirements in sustainability, carbon disclosure and environmentally responsible building practices, as well as upholding high social welfare standards.

    Public Disclosure Score "A"

    We gained a Green Star for the ninth year in a row for the GRESB (Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark) survey. We achieved an A rating for Public Disclosure and scored 81/100 in the Standing Investment Module, and 94/100 in the Development Module, exceeding our peer group average score in the Standing Investments benchmark by 5 points. GRESB allows us and our investors to measure our sustainability performance within the real estate sector.

    Gold Sustainability Best Practice Award

    We were awarded another Gold for reporting in line with the 2020 European Sustainability Best Practice Recommendations (EPRA sBPRs) for the seventh year in a row. The EPRA sBPR Awards are intended to raise the standards and consistency of sustainability reporting for listed real estate companies across Europe. As with the EPRA financial BPR Awards, each year EPRA recognises companies which have issued the best-in-class annual sustainability performance report.

    We were once again included in the FTSE4Good Index, which helps us assess our achievements against a transparent and evolving global corporate responsibility standard. The FTSE4Good Index Series is designed to measure the performance of companies demonstrating strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices. This year we achieved 3.0 out of 5 (Absolute Rating) and 89% (Relative Percentile Score).

    Driving ambitious corporate climate action

    We are also a signatory to the Better Buildings Partnership’s Climate Commitment and have published our net zero pathway, quantifying our emissions and outlining our decarbonisation trajectory. This trajectory is informed
    by our 1.5°C aligned science-based targets*. We are in the process of revising our emissions reduction targets to be in line with the updated net zero standard from the Science Based Targets initiative, as we remain fully committed to the net zero carbon transition of our business.
    * 1.5°C aligned science-based targets:
    – Reduce scope 1 emissions 42% by 2030 from 2020 base year.
    – Reduce scope 3 GHG from capital goods 20% per sq. ft. of NLA by 2030 from 2020 base year.
    – Continue annually sourcing 100% renewable electricity through FY 2030.

  • Better Buildings Partnership

    We are a member of the Better Building Partnership (BBP) and report into the Real Estate Environmental Benchmark (REEB). The BBP is a collaboration of the UK's leading commercial property owners who are working together to improve the sustainability of existing commercial building stock. The BBP respond to government policies and regulations on behalf of members.

  • British Property Federation

    We are a member of the BPF Sustainability Committee. The committee reflects upon issues of resource efficiency, environmental enhancement, and climate change.

  • Sustainability Islington Sustainability Network Logo 2024

    Islington Sustainability Network

    We sit on the Steering Committee for the Islington Sustainable Energy Partnership (ISEP). Committee members meet six times a year to plan projects and events, and maximise benefit for members and the wider community.
