OUR THREE-POINT STRATEGY
Turbo charging ‘biodiversity net gain’
We have a real opportunity to bring biodiversity to the forefront with existing buildings and new developments, integrating the needs of nature and introducing habitats to support wildlife.
Accommodating nature at the planning stage is a statutory requirement called Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), which aims to increase biodiversity by at least 10% for any development. We're going beyond this by introducing additional greenery to existing outdoor spaces, such as roofs and terraces.
Nature and Wellbeing
We believe in improving the health and wellbeing of Workspace customers and the local community by creating biodiverse environments on their doorstep.
As our urban sprawl densifies, we are losing our connection to nature and its associated benefits. We know that spending time in nature is crucial to our wellbeing, which is why we’re incorporating green spaces into our sites.
Climate resilience the natural way
As our climate changes, we need to find solutions to help us thrive. Nature can protect us from the worst effects of global warming, and by improving our biodiversity, we are building resilience against a changing climate.
Extreme events such as flooding, drought and heat are becoming more common. The introduction of green spaces to soak up flood water, and planting trees for shade are just some of the measures we’re employing, whilst providing an ecological boost.
