Moving advice checklist

Let us help you make moving your business as easy as possible by using our handy checklist of questions to ask

There is a lot to take into account when choosing a new property and you should take the same care selecting your new business space as you would buying a new home.

Moving office is no small investment, even in the earliest days of a business. There are a huge selection of facilities on offer, ranging from fully serviced business centres to independent buildings. So, how can you decide precisely which property will best suit the needs of your business? With the help of our checklist available for download here.

We’ve gathered together a handy list of options for you to consider when picking a property - so once you've worked out what's important to you, you'll be able to browse our portfolio more effectively.

Of course, this is by no means the be-all and end-all: we’re all about finding the perfect property to suit your needs. This is simply a useful guide, and if you need a bit more help, then get in touch with our team of property experts today who'll be happy to help.

Some of the major areas to consider:

Reception and welcome staff

Like a number of factors on this list, the need for receptionists and a reception area will depend on you - if you are not likely to have visitors every day it may not be a high priority for you to have a receptionist or manned waiting area.

Things to consider: Receptionist, visitor waiting area.

Vehicle access and parking

Though road and vehicular access is traditionally more applicable to retail, industrial and manufacturing firms, it’s still something you should consider - or at least look into nearby car parks as a compromise. If you are going to invite customers to your office or have staff commuting by car, then this may be a priority for you.

Things to consider: Ground floor access for deliveries, loading bay, visitor car parking, good road links.

Network connections

Every business will rely on the web in some form so it's worth evaluating just how effective a connection your business requires. If you simply use the web to send e-mails and upgrade your software, then a standard broadband connection may be sufficient, but if you are a business that relies on the web for the entirety of their income, you should look at first class business connectivity services.

Things to consider: Broadband speeds, mobile coverage, community Wi-Fi, network cabling.

Natural light and other lighting

Lighting can have a much stronger effect on your working area than you may actually realise. Indeed, studies have shown that the amount of natural light in a workplace can impact productivity so it's an essential consideration for any modern business.

Things to consider: Natural light, aspect, artificial light, open plan layout, floor to ceiling height.

Of course, every business will have its own unique needs and requirements, and these are by no means the only things you’ll need to consider, but we've created our checklist as a useful guide to ensure you don't forget the essentials - and do give us a call when you’re ready to move forward.

We’ll work with you to ensure that you end up with your perfect work space.
